Upwork charges employers a fee based on the amount paid to a freelancer. The fee structure is as follows:
- For the first $500 billed to a freelancer, Upwork charges a 20% fee.
- Once the total billings with a freelancer exceed $500, but are below $10,000, the fee reduces to 10%.
- Once the total billings with a freelancer surpass $10,000, the fee drops further to 5%.
These fees are applied to each payment made to a freelancer for their services.
