To verify your Shopify domain on Facebook, you will need to complete the following steps:
- Go to the Facebook Business Manager website and log in using your Facebook account credentials.
- Navigate to the Business Settings page.
- In the Business Settings, click on the "Brand Safety" tab, and then select "Domains" from the dropdown menu.
- Click on the blue "Add" button to add a new domain.
- Enter your Shopify domain (e.g., www.yourshopifydomain.com) in the provided field and click "Add Domain."
- Facebook will prompt you to verify your domain ownership. Select the recommended method, which is usually the DNS verification method.
- In a separate browser tab or window, log in to your Shopify account.
- Go to the Online Store tab and click on "Domains."
- Locate the domain you want to verify and click on "Manage."
- Under "Manage DNS settings," click on "Edit DNS."
- In the "DNS Records" section, add a new TXT record with the following details:
Hostname: Leave it blank or enter @
TXT Value: Copy the provided TXT value from your Facebook Business Manager and paste it here.
TTL (Time to Live): Leave it as the default value.
- Save the changes and return to the Facebook Business Manager tab.
- Click on the "Verify" button next to your domain in the Domains list.
- Facebook will now attempt to verify your DNS record. Once successfully verified, your Shopify domain will be marked as verified in Facebook Business Manager.
Note: DNS record changes can take up to 72 hours to propagate across the internet, so it may take some time for the verification process to complete.
